  	Jeff Jeffreys was born December 4, 1821 in Llanelly, County Breconshire in Wales. This was his grandfathers house. His mother died from complications of the birth. He worked as a blacksmith in Crickhowell, Wales, before moving to South Australia.

"upon arrival Australian arrival purchased 1400 acres and returned to UK and then built and ran the hotel...Contained 15 rooms with the dining room able to be converted to larger area-known as the Big Room, suitable for meting, dances and other general community uses." Licensees are listed including J Jeffreys from 1860-1866. and two other Mclean ancestors-D McRae in 1872-1874 and Henry Lewis 1877-1879."
