    I remember all of us children walking the paddocks of our new farm "BeJoed" of 2000 acres of virgin land to remove the rocks before planting see in WA (serradella was one seed name). Also Dad chose to not entirely clear the land. He left many patches of bushes for balance of nature and shelter for stock. This proved genius when a few years later among the many farmers our sheep survived in far greater numbers due to bushes protection in a frost the night after shearing. Which followed by a severe dust storm where many of local farmers stock died having becoming buried in sand and sheep all falling over each other. Most of our stock sought shelter of bushes.
