    Biography Notes * He was a gamekeeper in Sussex.
    * He married Harriet and they had 3 children in Sussex before the family migrated.
    * Came to Australia in 1848 - on the 'Bussanah' merchant ship from London - arrived in Adelaide on 20th July 1845.
    Biography Notes * James brought two toolboxes when his family migrated in 1848.
    * Malcolm McLean had one of these boxes but it was lost in floods in Nuriootpa in 19xxx.
    * Dora McLean had the other one which is still at the foot of bed her daughter (Judith Gordon) in Brisbane. It was always a place to keep special things. Dora remembers it being in her bedroom in McCallum Ave and Jeff sat on it while thinking of a name for Donald who was soon to be born. The children used to sit on it while Jeff and Dora would read them stories.   [1
