During WW1, with 2 brothers, served in the AIF overseas and all returned home.
He enlisted at 20 years old, on 11th Nov 1914 - 3 months after the war was was declared.
He was in the 5th Victorian Scottish Regiment, Second Brigade, First Division, 1st AIF.
He served in Egypt and then at Gallipoli. After 2 weeks he was wounded in the leg.
He was hospitalized in Egypt and England before being repatriated and medically discharged on 9th Feb 1916. |
