OBITUARY-LAMPARD- Well known throughout
the district. -Mr,. Alexander William
Lampard,. of Young's Irrigationi Col
ony. Horsham, passed away on Sunday y
after a long and serious: illness. De-
ceased; who was 66years old; was born
at Wellington, South Australia and
came to the Wimmera 44 years ago. Inn
his early career he was apprenticed to
a blacksmith at Apsley and afterwards
took up farming pursuits' at Polkem
met. About 24 years ago he came to
Riverside and conducted an orchard.
He was married at Polkemmet to Miss
Lily Butler and there was one daugh
ter (Grace. now Mrs. L. Smith of Kalkee).
His wife, predeceased him several
Years ago and he married again, his
second wife being Miss Christina Jessie
Raggatt. who survives him. Deceased
was a staunch adherent of the Church
of Christ at Polkemmet and Horsham;
and earned the esteemn of many friends
by his upright character. The funeral
took place at the Horsham Cemetery
yesterday and was repriesenitatively at
tended. The pastor of the Horsham
Church of Christ. 'Mr. J. Methven con
ducted a service in the church and at
the graveside. The coffin-bearers were
Messrs. 3. Lampard. L- Smith, R. H.
Hunt. A. McDonald. A. .Raggatt and,
G. Miller. Messrs. A. Weight & Sons had charge of the arrangements.
