    • According to the BRB (p119 in Rachel's section), her name was Eleanor Gilbert. But Jenny Biddle advised that the name was Frances Emily May Gilbert. She was Jenny's aunty (a sister of Jenny's father). Jenny knew her because she used to go and stay at the Federal Hotel as a child, after Tom had died. The name needs to be checked.

    Biography Notes She was a music teacher when she married Tom in Hamilton in Newcastle.
    They ran a picture theatre in Warialda.
    They then ran the Federal Hotel in Penrith.
    She continued to run the hotel after her husband died with the assistance of her brothers from Newcastle.
    She later operated a motel in Ashfield before retiring to Newcastle.
