When Max was ready for school their parents brought a horse-drawn vehicle and the children (later including the youngest, John) drove to school in Strathalbyn. Here they were able to buy the fresh bread needed to cut their daily lunches. (ref p83 of Rachel's section of the McDonald family history) |
