||5th child of James Stanley & Christina McPhee (nee McLean) Keough. Educated at Strathalbyn when her parents returned to the town and became a tailoress at Bell & Co. (Strathalbyn) until her marriage. Her husband Bertie George Blunt,b. 10/3/1901 at Hanson, S.A. son of Edward & Ellen (nee Slough) Blunt.|
and was a clerk with the S.A. Railways when they married. Leaving Strathalbyn in 1933 when he was appointed Station Master at Apamurra on the former Monarto-Sedan Railway.
The "Southern Argus" dated Thursday 17/3/1927 described the wedding:
"A pretty & popular wedding took place at St. Andrew's (Presbyterian) Church on Saturday afternoon when Miss Christina (Tina) Keough daughter of the late Mr & Mrs James S.Keough was united in holy matrimony to Mr Bertie George Blunt of the S.A.R. Strathalbyn. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. A. McKenzie B.A., the church having been beautifully decorated for the occasion by the girl friends of the bride who wore a beautiful gown of white silk with silk lace trimmings & a cap veil daintily arranged. She looked very sweet & carried the customary bouquet. The bridesmaid, Miss M. McLean, was frocked in very pale heliotrope with a cap to match. The bridegroom was attended by Mr H. H. Tiller. The happy couple were given a large number of beautiful presents, motored to Aldgate to join the Express there to Mt Buffalo, Victoria where they are spending their honeymoon."
Residence: 220 Seaview Rd, Henley Beach, SA. but at the latter pan of his life, Bertie with Tina, removed to Brighton.
Death: Bertie died on 5/5/1975 aged 74 years at the Julia Farr Centre, Fullarton, S.A.
Obituary: from the "Southern Argus" 8/5/1975.
"The passing of Mr Bertie George Blunt announced this week in the daily press. Bert was employed as a clerk in the S.A. Railways and married a Strathalbyn girl Christina Keough, a sister of Hughie, Stan, Murray, Bob & Maggie, all well known Strathalbyn residents & since deceased. Ben joined the Lodge of St. John in 1926, was Master 1933 & later Master of Mark Lodge. He was also Scout Master of the local troop during his stay at Strathalbyn. Besides his wife he leaves a married daughter, Marie. After a sen/ice at the Norman Memorial Chapel his remains were cremated on Tuesday afternoon last."
Death: of Christina (Tina) Blunt (nee Keough) on 27/9/1988 aged 84 years at the Oaklands Nursing Home. Also cremated at Centennial Park.
