At the Peterborough Methodist Church on Monday, 1st July, the Rev. D. T. Reddin officiated at the marriage of Eunice Elizabeth Inglis and Ralph Maxwell May. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Fauld Henderson Inglis, of Peterborough, and the bridegroom is the only son of the. late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. May, of Gawler SA and nephew of Mr. and .Mrs. G. Milford, of Peterborough.SA. Entering the church - with . her : father and three attendants, the, bride looked attractive in a cream ring velvet gown, the. full skirt merging into a train, and the bodice being buttoned at the back, and the square ruched neckline being finished with sprays of orange blossom worn by her mother 42 years ago. - Her veil fell from a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of gladioli, carnations, and hyacinths. The bridesmaids, Misses Dawn Need and Jessie Bowering, were frocked in pink and lavender velvet frocks respectively, with full skirts, ruched bodices, and long sleeves pointed at the wrist. Their Bo Peep hats were trimmed with tulle and natural flowers, and they carried bouquets to tone. Little Beth Bowering was train bearer, and looked sweet in a full length blue velvet gown, and a silver and blue halo headdress.
Messrs. R. Milford and J. J. Os man (Gladstone) attended the bridegroom. Mr. H. Pomery presided at the organ, and during the signing of the register Miss Doreen Lucas, ac companied by Miss Joan Cox, rendered a vocal solo. The reception was held at the Hotel Peterborough, where, on ac count of the indisposition of the bride's mother, Mrs. P. Wilcocks acted as hostess, wearing a grey ensemble: Mrs. Milford wore an Air Force blue frock and coat, and both ladies chose shoulder sprays of mixed flowers. Rev. Reddin was master of ceremonies, and proposed the toast "The King," and also "The bride and bridegroom," Mr. May responding on behalf of his wife and himself, and then proposing "The Brides maids." to which Mr. R. Milford responded. Mr. Norman Bowering proposed the toast of "The Parents," both Mr. Inglis and Mr. Milford replying. The beautifully iced and decorated wedding cake was made by the bride's brother, Mr. M. Inglis, and her sister, Jean (both of Adelaide), provided the flowers for the floral decorations. Mrs. Slattery was commended for the excellent menu and -pleasing room provided for the reception, which was her first effort since taking over the management of the hotel. For travelling the bride chose a wine woollen crepe ensemble, with black accessories. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. May's future home will be at Peterborough SA
