feature5A BUSHEL AND A PECK in Scotland 
When youre reading Scottish publications quoting measures. A tailors 'ell' was measured from fingertip to elbow=ell that measure in Scotland was 3'foot and 1"inch that in 2017 being 3.93 metres, but different measures were done differently in several different countries. All Scottish 'ell' measures were revised in 1700's. With measuring a distance of 12" inches=1' foot. If measuring dry grain: 4 lippies=1 peck, (1 peck in 2017 would be around 9 litres), 4 pecks=1 firlot, 4 firlots=1 boll. In liquid measures: 4gills=1munchkin, 2munchkins=1chopin, 2chopins=1pint, 8pints=1gallon: 2017 conversion is 1 gallon= approx 3.78 litres.
