    In 1848, the family migrated to South Australia on the 'Duke of Bedford'. Archibald and wife (Margaret) and daughters Susan 22 yrs and Marion 16 yrs. Also niece Christy, 18 yrs (see profile of Christina Black).
    The 'Duke of Bedford', under Captain Robert Thornhill, left on 29th August 1848 from London via Plymouth. They arrived at Port Adelaide on 5th December 1848.

    There can be confusion about two places - Kentra and Kintra.
    Kentra in on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular on the main land - about 60 kms away from Kintra which is on Mull, just across from Iona Isle.
    The address of the family of Archibald MacLucas was listed in the 1841 census as Kentra, whereas two of these children were born in Kintra in 1828 & 1837, and two died in 1835 & 1845.
