    Lorna was well known for the tricks her cat Smudge and later the dog Jock did under her training. Smudge was known to on command for an audience jump the full width of a double bed, leap through arm and hoops and as the story goes on one report leap through a lighted hoop.
    Outragously pampered puss would go walk about and Lorna would often be seen to be calling and coaxing the disinterested Smudge back home from a night of frolicking with others tabbies.

    On way to Port Elliot Sunday School Community Annual picnic, Lorna left her date because he was so concerned about losing threepence before they both took a train to the picnic. She advised him to go home and search for it. Never to see him again. It was said his wealth dominated his life.
